Amphibious Billboards Make Debut in South Korea
bbi Displays' patented billboard products make their first onwater
appearance in South Korea.
Gyeongpo Beach, South Korea (July 29, 2008) DM Communications towed bbi Displays' patented billboard products on the East Sea
along Gyeongpo Beach, the largest tourist beach on Korea's east coast.
The floating billboards were used as a unique way to promote the local Gangneung City
government. The 24 foot long billboard was widely viewed by local beach goers and
hundreds of thousands of tourists who according to the Gangneung City tourism
department visit Gyeongpo Beach every day.
The amphibious billboard products are the creation of bbi Display Systems, a California
based corporation. bbi recently joined forces with DM Communications, the exclusive
representative of bbi Display Systems in Korea, to promote the versatile products and
potential advertising applications. The Gangneung City campaign marks the first
appearance of bbi Display's patented advertising billboard products in Korea. bbi Display
Systems is currently seeking international distributors in several worldwide locations.
bbi Display's nontraditional billboards offer a wide variety of advertising applications to
both the operator and agency. The ability to display the systems on water allows for
placement of advertising on oceans, lakes, golf course water hazards, and other various
waterways. On land, the inflatable signs can be placed virtually anywhere including
rooftops, beaches, parking lots and golf course driving ranges. The inflatable billboard
structures can be both displayed in static locations or become mobile when towed by
boats, kayaks, golf carts, or bicycles. Since the advertising inflatables can be
conveniently transported in an SUV or truck and setup in less than 30 minutes, they are
also a great fit for short term advertising campaigns and events.
