bbi systems are tools not toys. They are designed to provide years of service. We have bbi systems in use and still making money for their owners today that fully paid for themselves more than 10 years ago!
Our bbi display systems allow you to offer advertisers incredible value and exposure while making you a handsome profit. Once you purchase your bbi systems you are free to set your own advertising rates, these rates vary greatly by location. For example, in Southern California rates of $1000.00 to $1500.00 per day are charged for a towed 24′ system along the water front. Given the low cost of our systems they can easily pay for themselves in just a few days at this rate.
Even if in your market you charged $250.00 per day for a 24′ system rental your purchase cost would be returned in less than 30 days and they last for years. Do the math the ROI is undeniable as bbi independent operators have found in now more than 70 countries around the world since 2002.
Our unique bbi products allow anyone to now compete with the big billboard companies and reap their share of this billion dollar global market. Any roof top, vacant ground or body of water can now be turned into a profit generating location. Our well established independent global network of operators provide profitable advertising space to large brands as well as small local businesses. As seen in the photo section of our bbi website, all our pictures are of actual money making events from around the world.
On water or on land bbi systems airtight design and superior materials and construction offer trouble free performance. No constant source of power is required simply inflate, install banners and you are ready to work.
All bbi systems come with everything you need to get started just ad the banners and you have an incredible billboard nearly instantly anywhere anytime. Should they ever be damaged instant repairs are as easy as applying instant repair tape, simply patch and re-inflate, it really is that easy.
You have numerous options and no purchase is required to investigate your options. The first step is to consider your local markets, area customs and permits and regulations that would effect your operations. The next step is to contact area advertisers, these can be local merchants or large corporations. The fact is with bbi systems you can now compete with the big outdoor advertising companies. Your low overhead and mobility as well as on water options make bbi a superior choice to their offerings in many locations worldwide.
Small local business’s pay less, big companies pay more, you set your own rates as you see fit. You can offer dry ground and on water placement services with our amphibious systems, so the display options you can offer are unlimited. Given your low overhead and start up costs you can now offer rates that are far lower than advertisers currently pay to the big outdoor guys. All companies seek a new effective approach to advertising and that is what you can offer for far less than they pay now.
Exposure is the key to growing your new company. The more the systems are seen the greater the demand they generate for you.
bbi is not a franchise, what you earn you keep for yourself. There are no franchise fees or costs other than the purchase price. You can sell the ad space before you even have the systems to help generate start up funds.
Please understand bbi does not stock or supply sales samples. All bbi associates or potential dealers purchase new units to use as their samples for in person presentations to clients. However, bbi would like to extend a special term should you initially opt to buy units to be used as samples. If within 90 days after the initial systems arriving at your office you elect to buy more units that meet the quantity discounts, we shall apply a credit for the per unit pricing difference on the sample units. This can be further explained by a member of our sales staff at bbi. If helpful, please contact us at email@example.com with any further questions you may have.
bbi is contacted frequently by advertisers seeking placement in various locations worldwide. We often work with local bbi operators to provide service to these brand name clients. You would set your own rates for these operations, and further terms are created based upon what the advertising client seeks.
For indoor use regular fire resistant vinyl is fine for use on our systems. For outdoor use we suggest using mesh material that is commonly used for building wraps and known to most printers worldwide. This mesh offers several air flow options such as 40% or 50% flow thru designs. Which mesh you select should be based upon the graphic resolution sought for the particular art the client seeks displayed. Your chosen printer can provide further details and options.
No. bbi only creates and sells our patented airtight inflatable display systems, nothing else. No toy or custom designs as many others do. We focus on the bbi Inflatable Display systems and have since 2002. They are our only product. If you seek banners for your bbi systems, we suggest Vincent Printing Company located in Tennessee, USA. Bo Freelend, the sales representative at VPI can be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. VPI offers four color ready to install banners for $2.00 per square foot to bbi operators. Many of our offshore clients have their first banners produced by VPI then use them as samples to find an in-country source.
Yes. The banners act as sheer panel for the design, so for maximum performance and rigidity, especially on water, all banners should be in place. This also gives the system a 360 degree appeal which advertisers seem to prefer.
All bbi systems use the supplied elastic bungee ball method to attach the banners. These unique attachments provide a elastic drumskin type fit for the banners and are easy to install and remove. Each bbi system comes with enough reusable bungees to fully banner the supplied system.
bbi began operations in 2002 and is the current patent holding inventor of the amphibious airtight billboard systems we offer.
Our unique products were invented and patented by our current company CEO Mr. William R. Barlow. Billboard Boats Incorporated and our division bbi Inflatable Display Systems are the sole worldwide master distributors of our products.
The systems can be anchored via the three link points provided at the end of each pontoon. Using three points to attach the anchors assures the load is evenly distributed even in the highest of winds. The anchor used can be as simple as a concrete block or depending on water and wind conditions, traditional boat anchors are another option. We recommend standard boat anchors for stationary display. The weight and size varies depending on the sea bed and conditions. Attaching anchors to only one side of the billboard adds a motion element as the billboard will pivot around this point. If anchors are attached to both sides of the billboard, the banners will remain facing the same direction. If you want a panel to always face a specific direction (ie. main panel facing the beach), this would be the preferred method.
Every bbi system is designed to be linkable so any length of billboard display desired can be created in sections. All bbi system have two link rings at the end of each pontoon. The link rings are simply joined together by threaded chain link connectors as detailed in the owners manual.
As with most things the better care you take of your systems the longer they will last. If properly washed after use and stored as directed bbi systems last for many years. We in fact have bbi systems still in use worldwide that were sold in 2003. When displayed on salt water, we suggest you occasionally clean the banners and billboard with a water hose. When the campaign is finished and billboards are removed from the water, the systems should be cleaned with soap and water, then allowed to dry prior to warehouse storage.
Every location worldwide has different requirements so always check with your local regulatory authorities first. Many land based laws do not apply to the bbi systems when operated off shore. For on-water display in the US, if the billboard is attached to a vessel, it is considered an extension of the vessel and according to the Coast Guard, no regulations apply and no permits are necessary. We generally only anchor the systems at special events, marinas or docks, or closed off/private sites. When discussing the applications with the municipalities, it is important to make the authorities aware that the systems are NOT boats, as they do not carry passengers and do not require registration. In addition, there are no electrical components. After the systems are inflated, they are capped and sealed so no continuous electric source or blower is necessary.
Again as with all things practice makes perfect. The more experience you gain the faster set up and take down goes. A typical 12’x14′ Ibb-200HD system with banners on all sides should take an experienced operator less than one hour to set up. Of course, new operators should allow more time. It is very important to follow the directions supplied with each system. This will assure a smooth set up and take down as well as a long and profitable service life.
Hard to say, you can visit our bbi website gallery for examples of the many options our systems offer for placement. From roof top to mountain top, on land or on water bbi systems perform. bbi systems have performed worldwide over the past 12 years, from the freezing cold of Russia, to the heat of the Saudi desert. The only ocean we have not yet floated ad’s upon is the Arctic Ocean, but maybe someday.
The bbi systems come with all the materials required for set up, of course you must add banners. As seen on our bbi products page, all bbi systems include: a carry bag, bungee’s, instant and long term repair materials, valve wrench, owners manual, 110v or 230vCE air pump as well as a foot pump.
The vessel size necessary depends on the conditions. bbi generally recommends a vessel with 75+ horsepower to tow the systems. In addition, a v-hull boat is preferred over a flat bottom. Most of the vessels we employ for open ocean are 20-25′ long and have roughly 50 horsepower outboards. However, smaller boats are employed for marina, inland water and lake tows. A 50 HP boat will tow the Ibb systems with ease. When inflated, the weight of the systems is evenly distributed and the units glide across the water. In fact, I personally towed 3 units linked together with a kayak for a few hundred meters. With the ballast bags attached, the maximum recommended tow speed is 5mph. If you tow at faster speeds, you run the risk of tearing the ballast bags. Clients prefer the slower tow speed as it provides maximum exposure for their advertisement. The slower speed is also appreciated by maritime authority. When the ballast bags are removed, the systems can be towed at faster speeds however the stability is reduced. Towing without the ballast bags is usually reserved for lakes and very calm conditions.
Yes it’s true, many companies produce toy like copies of our patented commercial grade tools and sell them for very appealing low prices. As with any brand name high quality product there are always those who seek to mislead customers with their toy like copies. We suggest you ask these other guys for pictures of their products in use as a first step. Make sure they supply pictures of their products and not bbi pictures as this happens a lot these days. Next question should be, can they provide contact information for satisfied operators that you can speak with? bbi has been the world’s number one supplier of airtight billboards since 2002 for a reason. We don’t make toys we make tools and tools cost more, really as simple as that. Given the years of service life and income, bbi systems have been proven to offer rapid return on your investment is assured. You will pay more for start up, however your income will be measured in years so keep this in mind. For example, if you paid $3500 for a bbi system and rented it for $500.00 per week, in 7 weeks it paid for itself and continues to work for years. Do the math yourself using the rental rates that are realistic for your location and you will see what we mean.
Please know the flow thru ballast system is included with each Ibb model. It is attached to the base of the pontoons with ropes and is removable if you desire. When displayed on water, the ballast drapes below the billboard and sits beneath the water surface. Use of the ballast is highly recommend for on-water display since it adds extra stability in wind and swells. Since the ballast is already attached, the only step necessary is filling a few pockets with water via a water hose or the foot pump. This step can be carried out at the launch ramp or dock after the systems have been inflated and placed on the ocean/lake. Filling the pockets with a few gallons of water is an important step as it gives the ballast system the proper tube shape to flow water. When the ballast pockets are properly filled, each overall bag can flow up to 120 gallons of water (nearly 1000 lbs.) thus providing extra stability. This weight is not a factor in the towing load as the water simply flows thru the bags. When the campaign is finished and you wish to remove the system, the water quickly drains out as you pull the billboards on shore. In dead calm conditions such as lakes with absolutely no wind, youmay be able to get away without filling the ballast and towing the unit with a boat. In this case, you have the option to remove the ballast bags and tow at speeds faster than 5mph. With the bags attached though, the maximum tow speed is 5 mph. Please note, when draining the ballast, open ALL caps on the ballast bag bladder prior to pulling the unit onto shore.
Yes, as seen in the bbi gallery we work a lot in snow. The systems can be towed on snow. The ballast bags would need to be removed and replaced with a vinyl pad that allows it to slide. The systems have a heavy duty vinyl base ,however, for long periods of tow and dragging it is important to add a additional layer of protection. The ballast bags are attached with ropes and can be removed in minutes. If you wanted to create an advanced pad, you could attach Teflon skids to the vinyl pad you would create.
For on water display, we recommend front lighting the unit with 12v halogen lights. A simple marine lighting kit can be constructed from a few basic materials found at a hardware store such as PVC pipe, copper wire and a battery. We do not manufacture lighting kits, but are able to provide the design specifications and instruct customers how to create one. Since the kit consists of basic materials, please know it is much more cost effective for you to build it locally then for us to produce and ship it. If you are not able to source the parts in your area, we would be happy to work with you on providing them. We have explored the use of solar panels, however, this method is very expensive and not quite as effective. For on land display, we illuminate the billboard by placing 500 watt halogens in front of the unit.
